The Programmable Logic Design Engineer is responsible for producing programmable logic designs, to be implemented in programmable logic devices (FPGAs and CPLDs) used in various sub-systems under development, and to the requirements set out by each project or client.

The primary activities of PLD Engineer shall be:

  • Translation of a set of user requirements into a conceptual / architectural logic design.
  • Implementation of the design through coding in VHDL and the use of third party IP blocks.
  • Verification of the design blocks through simulations and the use of testbenches.
  • Verification / Testing of the design in the target hardware.
  • Documentation of the design and user interface of the design.
  • Support during testing of hardware that includes programmable logic designs.
